Пробовала читать, но не смогла после...

Открыла современный роман "10 причин не встречаться с копом". Прелестная завязка.

Аннотация

С Кейли Стивенс достаточно копов и их высокомерия. Но когда исчезает бесценная проклятая доколумбийская статуэтка, учительница дневной школы оказывается в центре расследования. Лицом к лицу с сексуальным детективом Лукасом Блэкфоксом, школьным другом ее братьев. Кейли клянется, что ей ничего неизвестно о статуэтке, но странным образом раз за разом появляется не в тех местах. Если бы только Люк смог подобраться к ней поближе, то возможно узнал бы правду и раскрыл преступление.
Но Кейли с копами не встречается. И у нее на то есть свои причины...

Все нравилось. Герои встречаются первый раз за долгие годы, когда Люк останавливает  машину с Кейли целью провести там обыск. Конечно же, Люк не отказывается от шанса обыскать и саму героиню в коротком лаковом плащике, под которым костюм плейбоевского зайчика. Не скоро еще Люк этот день забудет.

Я уже предвкушала удовольствие от книги. Но тут...

Героиня начинает ныть, что ее достало все мужское население планеты.  Отец, братья и бывший носятся с ней как с фарфоровой статуэткой, чтобы она случаем ноготок не сломала. А она не ребенок. И требует к себе должного отношения.

Чудесно, так держать.

Все было симпатично, пока у героини не спустило колесо. Она демонстративно начинает его самостоятельно менять. Конечно же, у нее ничего не получается. Подоспевший вовремя герой ей открывает страшную вселенскую тайну, которая известна лишь единицам.

О, чудо! Наконец-то в 30 лет героиня узнает, что болты закручиваются по часовой стрелке. Соответственно раскручивают их в обратную сторону.

Кто бы мог только подумать!

Меня как-то дернуло посмотреть ее другой фильмец. Тот, в котором она с мужиком попала на необитаемый остров. Видела только кусок, но бяка редкостная. Поэтому смотреть ее "W.E." не тянет.
Но эскизы к фильму симпатичные.

Предлагаю вместе почитать книгу, которая прошла мимо меня в детстве. Я в те годы читала книги наподобие "Дети подземелья" и "Тимур и его команда". Справедливости ради замечу, что Тимура я любила (в отличие от детей).
Начну с "Аня из Зеленых Мезонинов". Оригинал и перевод  (Батищева М.)
Читаем чисто в ознакомительных целях и наслаждаемся. Только все самое интересное.

Во-первых, название.
