В день посвященный популяризации чтения Шеррилин Кеньон посетила обычную школу, где побеседовала с учениками.

Кеньон призвала учеников не отказываться от мечты стать писателем из-за возраста.
Шеррилин не позволила дислексии помешать ей достичь мечты. Когда ей было шесть, старший брат учил будущую писательницу читать по комиксам о Спайдермене. Уже в третьем классе ее сочинение о маме напечатали в газете. В четырнадцать она написала первую газетную статью, а в двадцать пять - первый роман.
