Возмутило читателей то, что Элоиза Джеймс выбрала жениха Оливии для насмешек. Героиня с сестрой постоянно вульгарно шутят о нем, его действия должны вызывать смех у читателей. Но читатели почему-то не смеются. Жених Оливии не дышал при рождении, его мозг пострадал и сейчас он отстает в развитии. Руперт не хочет секса и не может оплодотворить Оливию, но это вовсе не смешно.
Конечно же, на горизонте появляется другой герцог. И конечно же героиня, находит с ним счастье. И конечно же, Джеймс считает, что все должны думать, что Оливии несказанно повезло избавиться от тупоголового Руперта.
Средняя оценка романа Джеймс - 4 (среднее между пятерками и двойками). Так что, как видите, мнения разделились.
